For the past 10 years, Aastha’s passion for mental health has led her to a unique educational trajectory, pursuing her PhD and training as a Clinical Psychologist. In this scope, she has previously worked with adults in community mental health, as well as university students with mild-severe presentations. Growing up immersed in different cultural backgrounds, Aastha takes pride in her commitment to inclusivity and cultural sensitivity. Her appreciation for diversity leads her to offer compassionate support to each client, recognising that no two people are the same.
At the core of her practice is the belief that the therapeutic relationship acts as a catalyst for a lasting change. Aastha is dedicated to creating a safe environment where clients feel genuinely understood and respected, walking alongside them in a non-judgmental manner and helping them navigate challenges at a pace that feels comfortable. She prefers to take a strengths-based approach to mental health, and is committed to empowering clients in becoming their own therapist overtime by equipping them with practical strategies in their toolbox that they can draw upon throughout their mental health and wellbeing journey.
Aastha is skilled in providing structured, high quality assessments benefiting clients with a deeper understanding of themselves and the factors contributing to their difficulties. She leads with an eclectic therapeutic approach, drawing from a range of evidence-based treatment to ensure that each client receives support that is best suited to their needs. Aastha finds fulfilment in helping clients through ‘guided discovery’, an approach that helps clients to develop self-awareness and strengthens their ability to think critically. She also has experience in supporting neurodiverse individuals and their families, and in navigating the challenges associated with Autism, ADHD, and other developmental differences.
