With over a decade of experience as a psychologist spanning both the public and private health sectors, Shara brings a wealth of knowledge in delivering psychological therapy to adults with diverse concerns. Having held the position as an Assistant Director at a national counselling service (for veterans and their families) exceeding four years, Shara also possesses extensive experience offering support and supervision to mental health professionals, and is a Board-Approved Supervisor.
Shara is passionate about providing high quality, evidence-based services, to assist individuals in their journey to positive mental health. She incorporates various evidence-based treatments and strategies into her practice; however, her preferred treatment approach is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), a goal-directed and leading evidence-based treatment for a range of psychological concerns. However, in recognising the individuality of each client, Shara is committed to tailoring psychological interventions to clients’ unique needs.
In her role as a therapist, Shara espouses the belief that, with the right guidance, positive changes can be realised in one’s life. Collaborating with her, clients can anticipate empathy, compassion, transparency, and, notably, occasional humour. Shara’s practice is guided by both her clients’ individuality and the principles of best practice methods.
