Janine is a Clinical Psychologist who has worked in a diverse range of settings, both nationally and internationally, since first registering as a psychologist in 2007. These include; mental health services, hospitals, AOD settings, university services, and defence. In addition to her work as a psychologist, Janine has worked with the United Nations to support remote communities impacted by natural disasters and armed conflict; and has trained as a journalist. Janine brings this diverse life experience to her work. She enjoys working collaboratively with clients from a wide variety of backgrounds to make positive changes in their lives. She tailors her work to the individual needs of her clients incorporating various evidence-based treatments and strategies into her practice.

As a therapist, Janine is friendly and nurturing – using a combination of empathy, compassion and humour to engage her clients. She believes that it is critical that clients feel safe and supported in session to make lasting change. She takes a strength-based approach to her work, recognising that we all have abilities, knowledge and capacities that help us function in the world. She works with clients to identify and build on these strengths, at the same time as helping them gain insight into presenting difficulties. She also believes in the importance of providing her clients with practical skills they can utilise outside of sessions.
