Maggie is a Clinical Psychologist who has worked across various sectors, including inpatient and outpatient mental health services and correctional facilities. Since completing her Master of Clinical Psychology in 2019, Maggie has been passionate about working with adolescents and young adults, and recognises the importance of including personal and professional supports in treatment. While Maggie has experience working with a range of mental health presentations, she has a particular interest in supporting individuals experiencing disordered eating, body image concerns, substance use, self-harm or suicidal thoughts, difficulties regulating emotions, and anxiety concerns.
Maggie recognises that the therapeutic alliance is crucial in supporting individuals to feel safe, comfortable, and supported. She values working with clients in a genuine, collaborative, and creative way to foster the relationship, and encourages client’s feedback regarding their experiences of treatment. Maggie recognises that we can all sometimes get “stuck” in unhelpful ways of thinking, feeling, and coping, and aims to support clients to recognise and modify these patterns. Maggie takes a person-centred approach and takes the time to makes sense of your concerns and collaboratively explores steps to move towards your goals.
Maggie is available at the Victorian Psychology Clinic on Tuesday afternoons and evenings. In balancing her role at the VPC, Maggie also works in the public sector in an Eating Disorders treatment team.
